Dr. Paul Peterson is holding Muhlenbergia torreyana in figures 1 and 2 and two grasses in figures 3 and 4, Amphicarpon purshii (Peanut Grass) and Muhlenbergia torreyana. The Peanut Grass has wider leaves than Torrey’s Smoke Grass and a cleistogamous flower attached to its root.
