      The Pitcher-plant is native to Labrador west through Manitoba and Saskatchewan and south through Florida, Louisiana and Tennessee (Fernald 1950, 729).   Other common names for the Pitcher-plant include Huntsman's-cup, Indian-cup, Indian-jug, and Sidesaddle-flower.   This is an insectivorous species.
