Additional Information: White-tailed Deer have become common in Washington, D.C.   Their sign occurs in many areas including the forest in Glover-Archbold Park.   People also call this species Virginia Deer and Whitetail.

White-tailed Deer sometimes devastate plants in the Heyden Memorial Garden; for example, they eat tulips to nubs.   Mr. J. J. Cravens (GU Class of 2003) found three of them browsing in the Garden in June 2003 on a tasty salad provided by GU.
