Figure 1.   Bog Clubmoss (the bright green prostrate plant with upright spikes) and Wintergreen (oval leaves) on the bank of Parkin Pond.

      Bog Clubmoss is native to Newfoundland through Alaska south to Nova Scotia and New Jersey and Pennsylvania, the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia, northern Ohio, northern Indiana, northern Illinois, Minnesota, Idaho, and Oregon (Fernald 1950, page 13).
