Additional Information: Bobby Tant, North Carolina Fossil Club, found this very large tooth (vertical height, 3.75 inches)of the shark Carcharocles auriculatis in the Martin Marietta Mine near Rocky Point, Pender County, NC, on 30 March 2001.  This tooth is from the Eocene Epoch and is about 40,000,000 years old.
