Additional Information:

The Aphaenogastor tennesseensis is thought to be a temporary social parasite of A. fulva and A. rudis (Creighton 1950). The queen of this species (pictured above) has a very smooth shiny surface, in contrast to the worker which has a heavily sculptured surface.
