The Laboratory of Entomology and Biodiversity at Georgetown University has been closed down due to the retirement of Dr. Edward Barrows. Dr. Barrows was a professor at GU for many decades. After Dr. Barrows retirement, the Observatory was cleaned out and is undergoing renovations. This webpage is no longer updated and is an archive of the work we did during late 90s and early 2000s, the beginning of the World Wide Web. The BDWA was one of the first online databases of ecological specimens, images, and information. - DSK 2025 Georgetown University Main and Medical Campuses are in the in the District of Columbia. Georgetown University is adjacent to Glover Archbold Park. This forested valley is less than 100 meters from our Ecology Laboratory and Laboratory of Entomology and Biodiversity on Observatory Hill. This Park is ideal for ecological research and provides an excellent teaching resource for undergraduate and graduate education. Glover Archbold Park is a part of Rock Creek Park, one of the older national parks (established in 1890) in the United States. |
